Rev Kay was one of 2 ministers arrested for marrying couples in New Paltz in 2004. Pat and Kay were on the front page of the Poughkeepsie Journal March 7, 2004, having been married in New paltz by Rev. Dawn Sangrey. Both ministers are Unitarian Universalist ministers.

They were joined in marriage by Jason West, Mayor of New Paltz on the 35th anniversary of their partnership. Vincent's brother-in-law and niece were witnesses. A small group of relatives and friends joined them on August 6th to celebrate the event.

Additional Info: We will renew our marriage vows with Mayor Jason West and Rabbi Jonathan Kligler officiating. We were originally married on September 1, 2001 by Rabbi Jonathan Kligler in Woodstock, NY followed by a Civil Union in Vermont in 2001. We wed again in New Paltz, NY in 2004. We were finally legally married in Niagara Falls, Canada in 2005. Since our legal marriage is now recognized by the state of NY we can not, nor is there any reason to, get married again in NY, but we would if we could!
